Director, Business Analysis

Description: Canam is the largest fabricator of steel components in North America. Specialized in designing construction solutions and fabricating customized products since 1961, Canam takes part in an average of 10,000 construction projects each year in one activity sector divided into three groups of products and services: buildings, structural steel and bridges. The Corporation operates 25 plants across North America and employs over 4,650 people in Canada, the United States, Romania and India.   The Director, Business Analysis is responsible for the analysis of performance and opportunities for the division.   Responsibilities: Ensure the President of the Joists and Deck division is provided with financial information and advice in regards to actual, forecast and budgeted results for all regions Assist in the translation of the business objectives of all Canam regions into strategies, actions and targets that not only deliver the short-term objectives (month to month) but also provides a realistic foundation to achieve medium and long-term objectives Work closely with the President, Regional General Managers and corporate finance to fully develop the regional commercial capabilities in establishing regional analysis and reporting needs Act as a business analyst in one specific regional management team to establish the regions' direction and strategies to achieve sustainable financial results. Identify opportunities to extract additional value and drive process improvements for this region Actively manage the business analysts team to ensure that they perform their responsibilities to a high standard and act as a role model in displaying Canam values and behaviors Promote the increased safety focus for all regional businesses Collaborate with corporate finance to continuously improve the quality of the financial reporting systems, outputs and standard corporate templates for the regions Review major investment cases for all regions in collaboration with each business analyst   Requirements : 10-15 years of experience working in a fast moving business environment Graduate degree in Accounting/Finance Expert level financial analysis skills Proven experience of successful collaboration between finance and non-finance people Experience in developing and managing high performing teams Awareness of regional reporting solutions particularly around the types of data that are available within the systems Significant experience in the construction industry Bilingual (English and French), preferably   Desired Profile: Excellent oral and written communication, collaboration and relationship building skills Ability to quickly form working relationships and gain credibility with senior management and corporate finance team Strong influencing skills and judgment to get the balance right between challenging business management to ensure achievement of revenue and profit targets and working in partnership with the business Ability to challenge existing thinking Unafraid to deal with confrontation and confident making decisions under pressurized conditions Excellent negotiation skills Ability to work to challenging deadlines in demanding fast-paced environment Ability to juggle multiple priorities to deliver the strategic objectives of the market Ability to manage by outputs, not micro-manage by activity/task Proactive in identifying and solving complex problems/issues

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
