Summary:

LOCATION ALERT: This position is located at the Arizona State Prison Complex - Lewis which is located between Buckeye and Gila Bend; this is 55 miles from central Phoenix.
This position is responsible for inspecting, installing, removing, replacing and repairing all manual and electronically operated locking/security devices in a prison environment.
JOB DUTIES:
Inspects and performs preventative maintenance on locks, locking devices or systems and keys
Cuts and copies keys, and pins/re-pins locks
Maintains a variety of records on work performed, including inventories, work orders and documentation pertaining to materials and supplies
Inspects and maintains tools and equipment to ensure proper working order and that all are accounted for
Orders parts and equipment
Drives on state business
Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
Electrical and mechanical locking devices
Wiring diagrams
National/local building codes and common safety-security-custody, practices and procedures
Sketches and structural components of applicable systems or locks
Skill in:
Reading and interpreting blueprints or sketches
Using common and specialized tools, equipment and materials
Ordering and estimating costs
Written and verbal communication
Ability to:
Work in a prison environment
Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships
SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR(S):
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):
Prefer one or more year of experience in repairing electric/electronic locks and Locksmith Certification
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test , and medical/physical exam.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
